Sarah nods.
“Then we walked through the market.”
“We tried local chocolate.”
Daniel laughs.
“And you met me.”
“That was the best part,” John says jokingly.
Everyone laughs.
Lucas points at Sarah.
“What did you enjoy most?”
She thinks for a second.
“I liked the old square near the river.”
“And I loved the violin player.”
Daniel nods.
“He plays there almost every evening.”
Lucas turns to John again.
“And what didn’t you like?”
John makes a face.
“The hills.”
“Too many hills.”
Sarah laughs loudly.
“You said you wanted adventure.”
“I wanted adventure,” John replies.
“Not exercise.”
Lucas nearly spills his drink laughing.
“That is fair.”
A cool breeze passes through the street.
People continue walking beside the river.
John looks around the city lights.
“It was a good day,” he says quietly.
Sarah smiles.
“And tomorrow will be better.”
