John and Sarah walk to the reception desk.
A receptionist smiles at them.
“Good evening. How can I help you?”
John looks at Sarah for a second, then speaks.
“Hello. We have a reservation.”
The receptionist nods politely.
“Of course. What name is it under?”
John answers calmly.
“It’s under Sarah Miller.”
The receptionist checks the computer.
“Yes, I found it.”
She looks up again.
“Two nights, correct?”
Sarah smiles.
“That’s right.”
The receptionist continues typing.
“May I see your passports, please?”
John gives her the passports.
She checks the information and returns them.
“Everything is ready,” she says.
She takes two key cards from the desk.
“Room 508.”
“Breakfast is served from seven to ten.”
“The elevators are to your left.”
John takes the cards carefully.
“Thank you very much,” he says.
“You’re welcome,” she replies.
They walk toward the elevators.
John smiles with relief.
“That went better than I expected,” he says.
Sarah laughs.
“You did great.”
John feels more confident now.
